Bear hugs and stitches

Well it's official, I am now six months old!! WHOO HOO! I am also tipping the scales these days at a solid 46 pounds! These last couple of weeks have been a whirlwind of activities for me! The first couple of days after my surgery, I got to spend sometime with Sligo :) We had so much fun playing together that I kept forgetting I had stitches. Besides Sligo coming over, I pretty much stayed at home during the two weeks that I had my stitches for. When I went to get my stitches out, I was definitely much more skeptical of Dr. Rick's office...I actually didn't even want to go at all! I made Nick carry me in!! People kept giving him funny stares since he was carrying in a pretty large dog! It's okay though, I felt much safer with him holding me!! My fist outing after my stitches came out wasn't much better that visiting Dr. Rick. Mom and Em took me to Pet People and I was acting SO weird! It was definitely not normal for me! Luckily I think that I was just scared since having my stitches out, so hopefully my next outing will be better. Since getting spayed, I haven't been to puppy play time in two weeks! Well, I was all excited to go this week, but I learned that puppy play time has ended :( Our puppy supervisor Stephanie has left Petco, so no more puppy time :( I was super sad! Since everyone has officially gone back to school and work now, I am getting use to being alone in the basement for the majority of the morning till mom comes home :) I am also starting to get much better at holding my piddle. I am starting to become a very rare piddler now!! YAY!

Wow, is that true! I have been so busy this month that I have had hardly anytime to write! This past week I spent the night away from home for the first time ever! I HATED it! I got spayed, so I had to stay at Dr. Rick's office for the night. He told my mommy and daddy that I barked all night long....shocker I know! I have been behaving myself very well since then! I haven't tried to bite at my stitches or anything! Nick keeps putting A&D on them for me, but I always lick it off! It's kind of like a little treat.... Before my surgery though, I enjoyed getting to spend time with everyone before they all went back to work and school. It's a little odd now that people are constantly coming and going in the house...I still have to work on realizing that.....I tend to bark when they come in the house! I have officially been moved from puppy food these days and I am eating full on adult doggy food! I think everyone figured that since I eat everything else, like rocks, sticks, shoes, leather, dirt, etc. that giving me adult food would be ok! I am really enjoying it though!! I have been spoiled this month (I know, no different than any other month!) so much! I have gotten lots of new toys and been getting lots of love! My new favorite toy is my cow toy that Em picked out for me. He's almost as big as me! He even came with me when I got spayed so I had something familiar with me :)

More like tooth fairy dust! These last two weeks, I have started loosing my baby teeth!! Luckily no one has stepped on them yet! I lost my very first tooth at puppy play time last week! This week at puppy play time, I lost TWO teeth!! They just keep falling out!! My mommy has been so busy this last week cleaning up the house from all of my piddling.... :( I just can't help it!! The family isn't thinking it's so cute anymore! I have a feeling I am going to start potty-training bootcamp soon if I don't stop! It's a good thing that Santa isn't coming for a couple of months still, because I have to get my act together with all the this piddling and chewing on stuff! Oh, did I tell you?? I um...well....um....I ate part of the recliner.....WHOOPS! Mommy and Daddy were not happy with me at ALL! That was one of my naughtiest moments ever! Now, enough with the bad things I've been doing, what about the good things!! I have almost all of my adult hair in now! The only part that is not adult hair is my head! It's still very light brown, while the rest of me is quite dark! Everyone says I look a little funny!! I am weighing in at a solid 40 pounds now! I know it doesn't sound like much, but Bandit is 11 and weighs 54 pounds.....guess who is only 5 1/2 months and weighs almost as much as an 11 year old! It's a good thing I'm not a kid, because someone would call child services on the family cause I would be a HUGE baby!! HA! I went to puppy play time tonight and had LOTS of fun! I thought this would be my last one, since I am just so huge compared to the other puppies, but I don't think it will be anymore! Stephanie the dog trainer told me I can come as long as I want, since I am such a gentle giant. I was so happy to hear that! I LOVE going to that place!! Well, I think I have said enough to cover me for not writing for 2 weeks! WHOOPS! But hey, you try typing with these HUGE paws!!

Not only is my blog title a cute lyric from a country song, it's so true! I have been so busy growing and chewing on everything that I haven't had much time to blog lately! One of my favorite things to chew on lately, is shoes! Mmmm shoes! My mommy has been the real only victim lately with the shoe chewing.....what can I say, her's are the yummiest!!! I have been so busy playing in the pool and practicing my swimming too! I am getting to be the best swimmer in the house!! (Ok maybe not, Nick and Em both swam in high school....but I'm close!) I got my second bath since being home the other day! I have officially out grown the utility sink! Luckily I have a kiddie pool that did the trick! :) I also got a new collar this last month! My old one was getting to be a little small (since I am growing so fast!) and was beginning to get kind of smelly!! My new collar brings out my eyes Em tells me :) That must be a good thing!! Nick's brother got a new house last month and I got to visit for the first time this week! Talk about loads of space!! I had such a great time! I met a new friend their too! Her name is Rosey and she is a boxer! We played so long and hard, that I slept the ENTIRE way home! I went to another vet visit yesterday too! I am weighing in at almost 36 pounds :) Everyone keeps telling me I feel heavier! All I know is, that I must not be too heavy, because everyone still loves to snuggle!!

I'm exhausted!! Sleep well everyone!

Growing Up Quick

Boy is that true! I have been so busy growing up these last couple of days that I am so exhausted! These days I am topping the scales off at 34 pounds! WOO HOO! I officially weigh half the amount of Bandit (who is a 10 years old black lab!)!! That's saying something! I'm not just growing on the outside, I'm growing inside too! I've got some of my back molars coming in now! Makes me want to chew on EVERYTHING I can get my hands on now! Sometimes Mommy and Daddy don't really like that.....like when I chew the pillow...or shoes! I am still practicing my swimming lots which is always a fun treat! With all this heat though, I have been looking for some other ways to stay cool! Luckily I have found the sprinkler in the yard to do the trick, sometimes it scares me though! One of my favorite treats on these long hot days is a frozen peanut butter kong! Mommy and Daddy like giving it to me because it keeps me from chewing on anything else! It makes for a much happier house :) Speaking of a happier house, Bandit and I are getting along MUCH better these days! We have started sharing chairs to sit on and sometimes even food. She has become much more accepting of me these last couple of days! Thank God!!
